Speed Enforcement System Autostrade, Italy Home > Projects > Autostrade Italy Project Conception The OEM version of the established Weiss-Electronic MC2014SE forms the core component of the "Tutor" enforcement system owned by Autostrade S.A. in Italy. Additionally to the usual punctual speed enforcement, the license plate recognition cameras mounted on the overhead gantry signs automatically evaluate the average speeds between two measurement points (section control). The loop detector used allows precise speed measurement up to 300 km/h as well as vehicle classification. Thus, even when the permissible speeds vary for different vehicles, speeding can be detected according to vehicle class. This means speed enforcement depending on different permissible speeds for individual vehicle classes, including motorcycles. The detectors and other components combined in "Tutor" are thought so reliable that the system is said to be infallible. This fact is acknowledged by homologations in several countries.
