Video monitoring Dharan, Saudi Arabien Home > Projects > Video monitoring Dharan Project Conception Saudi Aramco, the state-owned national oil company of Saudi Arabia, located in Dhahran, is the largest oil corporation in the world. The company owns a worldwide network of refineries and installations for the production and processing of crude oil and gas, as well as pipelines for their transportation. The project's objective was to observe the 25 km2 company premises with a minimum number of cameras and to monitor all sensible and strategic focus points. From the centre the cameras are parameterized and controlled. They go independently on user- defined "patrols" by panning to the learned areas and zooming into the sensible areas such as entrances, oil tanks etc. In order to maintain a night visibility of up to 500 m, an accordingly far reaching infrared beam (infrared canon with variable focus) moves with the camera. Furthermore, the reliable and centralised control and live streaming (real time) of the cameras must be guaranteed over great distances. The project was realised in cooperation with our project partner, the Almisehal Group from Saudi Arabia.
Start of project: July 2004. Start of operation: April 2005. |
