Project Conception

The traffic detection system for statistical information and routing was installed all over Hesse. For data acquisition, double induction-loop fields are used, which are set up on the traffic lane for each cross-section. One road station is assigned to each cross-section. The road stations are placed in
a switch cabindet. Contracting body was the Office for Road and Traffic, Frankfurt/Main.

Goals are:

Integration into national traffic information systems
Gathering of traffic data for statistics and routing

Elements of this traffic control installation are:

141 Road stations connected to 10 different sub-centers
more than 600 classification detectors with
(8+1) vehicle classes according to TLS
13 Solar-powered stations
Detection of operational data

Realisierung

Weiss-Electronic GmbH implemented this project jointly with partners for civil engineering.
The project will be completed in 2005, the costs of the project will amout to approx. € 2.2 millions
for the Weiss-part. The total project volume will amount to € 5.9 millions
