Project Conception

The high volume of traffic, especially during the main travel seasons, requires the implementation of this traffic control installation, which was commisioned by the Office for Road and Bridge construction (Amt für Straßen- und Brückenbau). Particularily affected is the motorway A1 in the Bremen area (State of Lower Saxony), from the junction Posthausen to the junction Delmenhors-East.

Sub-center (UZ2000)
43 Road stations
84 Detection cross-sections with 79 radar detectors and 68 detectors for induction loops
29 Display cross-sections with gantries and
129 variable traffic signs (type A and B/C)
Environmental data
5 weather-stations with black-ice detectors and range-of-vision detectors

Project Extension

The project was extended from 2003 to 2005.
During the realisation phase, the existing traffic control installation was under operation, only partly interrupted
for short periods of time.

Realisation

As general cotractor, Weiss-Electronic GmbH has the complete responsibility for this project. The implementation took eight months, project terminatin was 1997. The costs of this extensive project amunted to approx. € 4.5 millions.

The extension was implemented jointly with partners for civil enineering and gantries. The total for the Weiss-part amounted to approx. € 2.3 millions. The commision's total amounted to € 6 millions.
