Description The RD2200 detector is a compact pole-mounted radar detector, operating in the microwave band. It detects the presence of objects and measures traffic parameters in multiple independent lanes. Up to eight user-defined detection zones (lanes) up to 60 m away can be processed simultaneously. Thus, a single RD2200 detector can replace several inductive loop detectors. The RD2200 unit detects stationary as well as fast moving vehicles, providing presence, traffic volume, occupancy, speed and classification information (car-similar and lorry-similar vehicles). The information is forwarded to the control units (e.g. input/output concentrator) or via RS232 resp. RS485 serial port to central computer systems. The detector is uniquely designed for side-fired operation, usually mounted on existing side-of-the-road poles or on gantries. For the “overhead” installation it can be mounted on the rails of the gantries in order to detect the traffic on a specific lane. It maintains accurate detection on any type of road surface, independent of the surroundings and weather conditions - even in tunnels or on steel bridges, in heavy snow, driving rain, strong winds and scorching sunlight.
The installed radar detector is calibrated via laptop PC (under MS Windows®). For calibration the interactive RTMS Setup Program "WinRtms" is executed while watching the flowing traffic. |
