Function description

The 4-Channel Loop Detector IG 224/4 was especially designed for traffic applications and stands out for its multitude of special functions. Like the series IG224 and IG224/4, loops are controlled in the noise immune multiplex mode.

The oscillator can be adjusted to very low loop inductivities by a jumper (single-turn loops). Inductivities of 400 µH or more a resistance of 40 Ohm is permitted(corresponds to approx. 550 m feed cable with ø = 0.8 mm). The front-side service interface can be used to adjust via laptop
(service software IGBT) multiple channel parameters like: sensitivity, measuring time, hold time, operational frequency, switch on/off delay, directional logic and oversampling.

The software is also designed for the diagnosis of loops and detectors, and for activating special functions.

Classification function

A bus detection can be implemented by using a special loop (10 m x 2.5 m). The value of attenuation is the decisive criterion. For smaller loops (loop length: 1.0 - 2.5 m) a simple differentiation between car / lorry can be realised.

Synchronization

Crosstalk of loops and their feed cable can be eliminated by synchronizing up to 30 detectors.
