VCI610 - LPR-Camera for the determination of travel time Home > Systems > System LPR Master > VCI610 Application range | Features | Function description | Technical data | PDF-Download
The camera VCI610 is characterised by its very high resolution, the high light-sensitivity (also in the near infrared regime) of its CCD sensor, the integrated flash as well as the integrated OCR software for license plate recognition. Furthermore, the camera allows an easy data transmission to the PC and an Ethernet-based communication and parameterisations. Thus, no additional frame-grabber cards in the PC are necessary. The triggering pulse can be activated by the internal software trigger or an external trigger (e.g. of a loop detector). This activates the synchronized releasing of the flash and the camera. The intensity and the illumination time of the flash are dimensioned in such way that the license plate of the vehicle is clearly and sharply photographed. The camera is constructed in such way that each hardware module can easily be accessed and exchanged. The VCI610 camera records up to 20 frames per second, the best one can be used for further processing. The VCI610 is suited for speeds up to 200 km/h. The camera can provide the image and string data of the recognized license plate as well as IP-address of the camera, date and time stamp for the PC. A video stream of the local situation to the PC is possible via Ethernet connection. Due to its integrated infrared flash, the camera works at day as well as at night and is independent of the surrounding conditions. Privacy note: Due to the principle used, there can be no positive allocation of person and licence plate. The camera-software enables the user to adjust all functions and parameters of the camera via Ethernet. The adjusted functions and parameters are stored in initialisation files and are activated at the next start of the camera. The system generates the according time stamp of the detection time for each licence plate. An external server is necessary in order to generate a reliable time stamp. Internal match with a database The camera provides the opportunity to create a so-called white and black list. There, licence plates of stolen cars can be listed. If such car is then detected, an alarm (I/O contact) can be generated. With the jolly-character (wild card) function the system becomes more tolerant of problematic license plates. |
